Whispers of Love

Mother's Day in the Philippines is not just a day , it's a celebration of love ,  and appreciation for everything moms do. It's a time when families come together to honor and cherish the special women in their lives.                          In Filipino tradition, Mother's Day is celebrated with warmth and affection. Families often start the day by greeting their mothers with heartfelt messages and expressions of love. These words may seem simple, but they hold deep meaning, showing how much we appreciate our moms.                            Y ou're like the moonlight that shines in the dark. You are the light in my darkness and the strength in my trials. Nobody can really understand a mother's love. It is endless, there is nothin...

Taking the Lead in Change

Ever wanted to make things better? I think about it a lot. Then I realized, I can be the one to start. It's about doing simple things, like being nice to others or helping out in my community. Even small acts add up and make a big difference.                  Looking around, I see others who feel the same way about making the world better. It's nice to know we're not alone in this. Together, we can help each other and make a bigger difference. Being part of a group that cares feels really good.                 I know change takes time. It's like climbing a hill, you take it one step at a time. Each step gets you closer to your goal. And if you stumble, it's okay. You learn from it and keep going.                             So where do I start? I focu...

Salute to Heroes

Every year, on April 9th, Filipinos come together to celebrate Araw ng Kagitingan or Day of Valor. It’s a special day dedicated to remembering the bravery of our ancestors during World War II. But why is it important to remember this day?                  During World War II, Japan took over the Philippines. Filipino soldiers and guerrillas fought bravely against the Japanese invaders. They faced many challenges like hunger, danger, and being away from their families. But they never stopped fighting for their country.                                       Araw ng Kagitingan reminds us of the sacrifices made by these brave men and women. Many of them lost their lives in battle, leaving behind families and loved ones. Their bravery inspires us to be strong and...

Q3 in Review

The third quarter was full of experiences that expanded my knowledge and helped me to develop more. From making blog posts to trying out HTML activities, each moment pushed me forward.                     I explored the colorful traditions of Ilocos Sur Festival, learning more about our cultural heritage and the beauty of our differences.                     Valentine's Day 2024 reminded me of the many kinds of love we experience in life, like love for family, friends, and ourselves.                     Learning HTML was tough at first, but with practice, I got better at coding. Each little success boosted my confidence and showed me that hard work pays off.                     A...

Blueprints of Change

The start of our Community-Based Research (CBR) project was both thrilling and challenging. First, we formed a group and had meetings. We discussed our ideas and distributed the tasks among ourselves. Despite the overpowering feeling, we banded together and arranged ourselves for the work ahead.              Next, we conducted interviews with various vendors in Vigan. It was difficult because they were not always available. But we refused to give up. We kept trying until we got the information we needed. This showed me the value of not giving up, no matter how difficult things were.                 Following data collection, we each worked on our own parts of the project. We assisted each other out while remaining focused on our mission. Then, we decided to convert our research into a web design. T hen we decided to make our study into a website. It was a little challenging, but we worked toget...

Unity in Diversity

Women's History Month in 2024 celebrates the amazing contributions of women who have spent their lives fighting for fairness, variety, and making everyone feel included. Throughout history, women have faced lots of challenges in their fight for the same rights and chances as men. From the suffragists who fought for women's right to vote to the civil rights activists who stood up against unfair treatment, women have been at the front of social movements, breaking rules and pushing for changes.      One of the most famous people in the fight for fairness is Rosa Parks, who refused to give up her seat on a segregated bus. Her act started the Montgomery Bus Boycott and showed resistance against racial separation. Rosa's strong belief in fairness and equality inspires women everywhere.   In the fight for gender fairness, Malala Yousafzai has become a strong voice for girls' education. Even though she faced threats and violence, she kept speaking o...
